Biography

Kevin E. Thelen's general civil litigation practice focuses on the defense of health care providers in medical malpractice cases, and the defense of individuals and businesses facing claims of catastrophic personal injuries with significant and complex medical issues. He also assists health care providers in matters relating to licensing with various California state agencies and other administrative bodies. Mr. Thelen has successfully tried numerous cases to jury verdict in these fields in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Thelen is a member of the California Medical Legal Committee, which is composed of a select group of 35 Northern California and 35 Southern California medical malpractice attorneys who are considered by their peers to be the most prominent attorneys in the field of medical malpractice trial work. Mr. Thelen is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an exclusive, invite-only organization made up of experienced trial counsel.

Mr. Thelen recognizes that every case is unique, and he prepares every case as if the matter will be tried before a jury. Mr. Thelen has a thorough grasp of medical concepts, and has worked with clients and expert witnesses in numerous medical disciplines and subspecialties, including:
